Pre-Production Update #2
Since the last blog update, a number of events have occured that have made progression for the film as well as hindered our progress and made us reconsider our plan for a corporate film. We did complete the script and storyboard for the project although we decided to change the style of the film to promote a specific service that the location offers such as nail treatment. We plan to film shots more tailored to the nail station of the location, filming shots of the nail treatments, the products the business uses, customers looking happy and talking to staff, having a nice time in general.
After we had got all the plans together and we were ready to set a date for filming, the government had announced the second national lockdown which would start on November 5th, meaning all non-essential businesses had to close, including the business we planned to film for. Although it maybe a possibility to film while its closed but we would have to change our film idea so that we can film safely under the government's guidelines and reduce the risk of infection. We have a range of options. One option in particular is to film a corporate film for the media department at college. Our idea was to update the current course promotional film on their youtube channel and website (https://youtu.be/AgAXBqvvhuk / https://youtu.be/Dfbwu7EOWUo). We have produced a proposal for this project if we decided to go with this idea. When we decided what project we will produce, we will continue with the pre-production elements and get ready to film before the deadline.
Although, another problem has arisen. On the 11th November, my household been incontact with COVID-19 and a case has developed at home, meaning that I have had to self-isolate for 2 weeks (ending on 23rd November). I have contacted college and made them aware of the situation and have been told to work on any pre-production work and/or essay work. I have talked to Reece about it and he will be able to film the shots required for our project in my absence. After filming, I have told recce I can log the footage so that I can still help while at home. During self-isolation, I will be keeping in contact with Jon, Reece as well as updating the Test & Trace program if any symptoms arise that they need to be aware of.
