Post-Production Update #2

Image
Today is the deadline for the corporate unit. I have not been able to help Reece finalize the edit as I have to self-isolate again. Although I have been supplied screenshots of the final edits from Reece which I will upload here. This screenshot is the animated logo that plays at the end of the film. The Logo was animated by Reece using rotation keyframes for the butterfly logo and a mask to reveal the text behind. This screenshot is using Pan and Crop tools to change the position of the shot. Using keyframes to animate the position and scale of the footage. The film uses quick zoom in on specific shots for more effect. This screenshot is the render settings for the export of the film. As the camera capturing the shots was a 4K camera, the film will be rendered in 4k while using a specific aspect ratio of 160:67 to change the shape of the film. This screenshot is editing the structure of the film, arranging the shots in order for the film. Starting the shots with the exterior of the b

Post-Production Update #1

I have returned to college this week. I have been helping Reece edit the corporate film during my return. We have been taking screenshots of the editing stage which I will post here. We begun with importing the footage into after effects as we found that After Effects was more efficient and we had more creative control in editing the shots.  For the introduction to the film, we imported some text with company name, aligned the text to the side so we weren't obscuring the products in the background. We also applied some text animation to add more movement to the text. We then did the same to the 3rd shot, explain what the company is and where its based. While using background footage of the beauty salon to link the text and footage together. We then decided to import more shots into the project to get the rough cut out of the way before we add more effects to shots. Cutting the shots down to parts that we think work best for the film.  We will continue to work on the editing before

Beau Belles Corporate Film Update

While I have been away self-isolating at home, Reece has been making progress on the filming of the corporate film. From previous conversations with him, he has filmed all shots required for the film and will be working on producing the SD Card Logs, Logging sheets, EDLs for the post-production stage. I have offered to help him with any other documents needed for the unit. I will be returning to college on the 30th of November to help Reece with the editing of the film whilst complying with government guidelines in relations to self-isolation. Screenshots will be captured during the post-production stage.

Pre-Production Update #2

Since the last blog update, a number of events have occured that have made progression for the film as well as hindered our progress and made us reconsider our plan for a corporate film. We did complete the script and storyboard for the project although we decided to change the style of the film to promote a specific service that the location offers such as nail treatment. We plan to film shots more tailored to the nail station of the location, filming shots of the nail treatments, the products the business uses, customers looking happy and talking to staff, having a nice time in general.  After we had got all the plans together and we were ready to set a date for filming, the government had announced the second national lockdown which would start on November 5th, meaning all non-essential businesses had to close, including the business we planned to film for. Although it maybe a possibility to film while its closed but we would have to change our film idea so that we can film safely

Pre-Production update #1 (from start to 12th October)

Since the start of Unit 28. I have decided to work with Reece on his idea for a corporate film. The business he decided to make a corporate film for is Beau Belles, a local beauty salon in Shanklin. Which is a popular salon but lacks advertising content to post on their website and social media.  After picking the business, we needed to create an individual proposal that describes what the film is about, what happens in the film, the style the film will be presented in and any other details that we need. The proposal is completed and have been sent and finalised.  After the proposal completion, the pre-production can begin. As of this week (12/10/2020), we have begun the second draft of the script and the storyboard. These are drafts so they are not final and we are making constant iterations to them although we believe the structure of the script is complete, just need to work on dialogue and stage directions. We aim to have most of the pre-production work complete by the end of this
